Much of Alain Daniélou’s heritage is currently preserved at the Italian FIND seat in Zagarolo – such as the photographic archive and part of the documental one, as well as his own library, writings, water-colours and paintings.
FIND handles Alain Daniélou’s lifetime of work, as well as his contributions to various worthy institutions and educational centres.
FIND’s one legitimate priority is therefore to investigate the status of the Daniélou archives and to ensure the accessibility of the related data. In this sense, many of the institutions mentioned below have started a process of cataloguing and digitalisation that will let scholars access online Daniélou’s funds.
The Cini Foundation and the Institute for Comparative Musicological Studies are located in Venice on the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore. The Institute and the Foundation are two different entities housed by the same building.
The International Institute for Traditional Music (IITM) in Berlin was founded in 1963. From the start of its activities until 1996—when it was definitively closed—the Institute organised more than 30 conferences
