Summer Mela 2014

2014 Summer Mela programme included talks by Indian authors Samhita Arni and Siddharth D. Shanghvi, the architect Raj Rewal and contemporary artist Nikhil Chopra.

A workshop in the Tagore Hall of the Foundation (Villa Labirinto, Zagarolo) with the title Body Work by the Indian performer Nikhil Chopra took place from the 23rd to the 25th of June.

The exhibition of photographic works by Raymond Burnier and Alain Daniélou On the Ganges riverbank was inaugurated at Palazzo Rospigliosi in Zagarolo on June 28th.

The Shantiniketan-based Milon Mela Theatre Group brought the Mela celebrations to a close with a street parade and open-air performance in the gardens of Palazzo Rospigliosi in Zagarolo (28th June).

2014 Summer Mela programme also included several side events in Italy and abroad, in collaboration with Casa Asia (Barcelona), Santiago de Campostela University, Valladolid University, The Indian Embassy in Paris and the Siena Art Institute.
